End Title Magic

I come across the influence of toy theatre and puppetry everywhere, even in the most modern of computer animations. Below are four images, each representing a segment of the end titles of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Directed by James Caliri, featuring (among others) the work of lead animator Todd Hemker, it puts you under their spell as soon as the first notes of the score begin...

I've just added your site to my own site's link list (I read those I list there regularly). Wonderful specialty focus you have.

I was reminded when you said that you find the influence of toy theater is everywhere of a couple of instances that may apply. I may misremember, since I'm pulling these from foggy rooms in the old upstairs mansion, but...

The title credits to the Lemony Snickett film and the actual toy theater, which is the first I think I ever saw, in What Dreams May Come. I believe I have that last film correct -- it was a theater with a prominent moon and other whimsies.

    Best,

    Kelly

  2. You know, you're right - I saw that film and had forgotten all about that! I'll have to check that out...
