Optical Toys: Cyclotrope

A delightful re-purposing of bicycle parts!

The creator, Tim Wheatley, had this to say...
The cyclotrope is a cycle of 18 images that is spun at a certan speed so that the frame rate of the camera filming it gives the illusion of animation.

Very impressive video, unfortunately my computer didn't stream it very well, but I could tell what it was meant to look like. I liked the way the music was fitted into the images so nicely.

It reminded me of a visit to an automaton museum in Powys, Wales, (UK). They also make do it yourself automaton kits on site there. A wonderful place with a cafe and would you believe it a "rabbit village".
